1800 years old apple tree mosaic exhibited in Amasya Museum

Apple (Malus communis L.)
Its homeland is Anatolia and the Southern Caucasus. The excavation of the 1800-year-old mosaic with apple tree and apple figures, unearthed in Amasya province in the Eastern Black Sea region, shows that the existence of apples in our region dates back to 2 thousand years ago.
World apple production is 76 million tonnes.
Turkey  ranked the 4th in the world, having an annual harvest of 4.5 million tonnes.
